What Strange Creatures Are These?
The purpose of this Blogsite is to examine some very strange animals Isaiah described during a long time period when Earth is a devastated condition. Because we have John's Book of Revelation, we suggest that Isaiah, in chapter 34, is describing the Millennium. As we look at these creatures, it will become clear that they're not animals at all. They are Demons.

Isaiah, Jeremiah, and all prophets describing earth during the 1000 years tell us there's no possibility of live animals living here during this time. Even plant life cannot exist because there's no sun. Earth will be completely frozen.

However, in Isaiah 34, our main study passage, Isaiah describes several animals moving about. Once we understand what, or who, these animals are, we'll know exactly what earth will be during the Millennium.

Satan's Bottomless Pit
A casual Bible study of Satan's Bottomless Pit makes it clear that the entire earth is the Pit. It's frozen because there's no Sun. It's in total devastation because of the 7 Last Plagues. All unsaved were killed by the brightness of Jesus and His Angels at the Second Coming. For a 1000 years Satan and his angels (demons) wander among these billion plus putrefying dead bodies. The animals/demons Isaiah describes will help us understand Satan's Bottomless Pit.

Demons in Satan's Bottomless Pit
Evil angels are spirits, thus do not require oxygen and comfortable environment, as do humans and other creatures with flesh bodies. If we look in Strong’s Concordance, and the Septuagint (Greek translation of the Old Testament done 250 years before Jesus' birth), we discover that scholars are not sure what Isaiah's creatures really are. Some translators say Isaiah describes an owl, while others translate the very same creature as some kind of a snake and still others an ostrich. Owls and ostriches have no obvious connection to Satanic symbols. Angels are described as flying, sometimes even pictured as having wings, so this may be the connection. Snakes, however, are directly connected to Satan. We’ll look at Isaiah’s creatures that represent dark powers.

"Satyr Crying to His Fellows" In Satan's Bottomless Pit
Satyr: (Isa. 34:14) Isaiah describes the, "satyr crying to his fellow". The Septuagint renders the verse: "And devils shall meet with satyrs, and they shall cry one to another". In the Septuagint, several of the strange animals in Isaiah 34 are translated "devils". This "satyr" is one of the most telling of all the so-called animals. It describes perfectly the demons on earth during the entire Millennium. When Jesus cast out the demons at Gadara, following is what they said: "They (the demons) cried out, saying, what have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come here to torment us before the time" (Matt.8:29). Luke records the incident with the following: "And they besought Him that He would not command them to go out into the deep (abussos) [same word as Bottomless Pit in Revelation]" (Lk.8:31). "Satyr" has two meanings, but they are connected. It means devil and goat. The goat definition is connected to Satan. It means "rough he-goat" as opposed to a young goat. On the Day of Atonement, a he-goat, or satyr, was taken far out in the desert and released (see Lev.16:7-10). This part of the service represented the time when Satan and his demons would be chained in their "Pit" (Earth in its wilderness uninhabitable condition).

"Unicorn"

Unicorn: (Isaiah 34:7) The so-called unicorn as we see it portrayed today is not a real creature. It is a horse with wings and a fancy horn coming from his forehead. It is probably an invention of Greek mythology. In cult circles, the unicorn is considered sacred and a symbol of Satan. Job speaks of it as an extremely powerful beast that could not be tamed (Job 39:9-10). Some modern translators call it a wild oxen. Strong’s Concordance mentions, "a wild bull that is lifted up". Ezekiel describes Satan as having his "heart lifted up" (See Ezk.28:17). We suggest this "Unicorn" is actually Satan and/or more Demons.

"The Bull"
Bull: (Vs.7) Here Isaiah used the word "Abbiyr", which has two possible meanings; "Angel", or "mighty Bull." Satan and all his demons are fallen Angels. As we look closer at this "Bull," the Satanic connection becomes obvious. If we trace the word Isaiah used, "Abbiyr", we find it comes from the Hebrew word "Abiyr", which means "mighty one; spoken of God." The root word of "Abiyr" is "Abar" meaning "to soar or fly." "Abaddon" is one of the names given to Satan during the time he’s in his Bottomless Pit (See Rev.9:11). Connecting these dots is just too easy. "And they (Scorpions with stinger tails) had a King over them, who is the angel of the Bottomless Pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath a name Apollyon" (Rev.9:11). So it is that the bulls Isaiah saw could be "Angels" who, at one time, could fly anywhere in God’s universe, but, at the time Isaiah envisioned them, they are confined to earth. These "bulls" are most likely Satan and his evil Angels confined in their Bottomless Pit.

"Owls"
Owl: (Vss.11,13,14,15) King James translators render "owl" in all four verses, but in the original language each comes from a different word. The Septuagint translates them "satyr" (another name for demons) in one place and "ostrich" in another. In verse 15, we find a very strange creature. Its Hebrew word is, "qippowz". The Septuagint calls it a "hedgehog", King James translators call it an "Owl", and the New American translators call it a "snake". The confusion will be understood when we look at Strong’s definition:

"From an unused root meaning, To contract, i.e. to spring forward; an arrow-snake (as darting on its prey); great owl".

Throughout Scripture Satan is referred to as "that old serpent called the Devil" (Rev.12:9;Gen3:1). He definitely fits the "darting on his prey" portion.

"Dragons"
Dragons: (Vs.13) "It shall be an habitation of dragons". John saw: "The great Dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan" (See Rev.12:7,9,13,17). If "Dragon" represents Satan, then "Dragons" would be multiple Satans, in other words, Demons.

Wild Beasts: (Isa.34:14) The Septuagint calls these wild beasts "Monsters", again perfectly fitting for Satan and his demons. Isaiah mentions several other strange creatures in this prophecy, all of which undoubtedly have symbolic connection to the powers of darkness. None of the creatures are without confusion as to their true identity. Once we discover that none of these creatures are animals at all, but symbolic demons, the real condition of earth during the Millennium has no unanswered questions.

Although Satan and his demons need no comfortable living conditions to survive, the fact that they are forced to stay on planet earth, wandering aimlessly through putrefied filth and utter devastation "for ages and ages" (forever and ever; KJV), from "generation to generation", perfectly suits their punishment. It also perfectly describes Satan’s Bottomless Pit. Spirit creatures are not affected by extreme heat or extreme cold. Physical pain is not what God would use to punish angels. Mental, social, and emotional pain, however, is devastating to them. The most excruciating torment for Satan and his demons will be having no one to tempt, posses, or harass for a 1000 tears. Being forced to gaze upon the results of their evil for a 1000 years will intensify their agony. Is it any wonder they "cry to their fellows" (Isa.34:14)?

"Dragon, Serpent, Devil, and Satan"
"He laid hold on the Dragon, that old Serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him a thousand years" (Rev.20:1-2). John uses four terms—Dragon, Serpent, Devil, and Satan. Let’s look at a passage in which Isaiah names one of these. The following text in the Septuagint translates the names, Devils, Satyrs, and Monsters.
Study Text #1—Isa.13:22
"And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and the dragons in their pleasant palaces; and her (Babylon’s) time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged." Babylon in the New Testament always refers to Antichrist's Religion. Often in the Old Testament, it has a dual meaning. If Babylon is symbolic of Antichrist's Religion, then the "Chaldean's" represents the people and the territory of Antichrist. Keep in mind that "All the world wonders after the Beast (Antichrist)" (Rev. 13:3), so the Chaldeans represents the entire planet.

"And Babylon (Antichrist's Church), the glory of the kingdoms (plural), the beauty of the Chaldeans (the whole earth) excellency shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation, neither shall the Arabian pitch his tent there: neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. But wild beasts (demons) of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures, and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs (demons) shall dance there. And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and the dragons in their pleasant palaces; and her (Babylon's) time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged" (Isa.13:19-22).
Note the phrase, "Her time is near to come". The demons confronting Jesus were obviously familiar with this prophecy. They asked Him, "Art thou come here to torment us before the time" (Matt.8:29). Demons know Bible prophecy, and they know their fate. They also know that earth will be their "Bottomless Pit" prison for a 1000 years, but they don’t want us to know it.Following is a description of earth during the Tribulation and the Millennium. The phrase "slay the Dragon" refers to the end of the 1000 years when God destroys, kills, Satan.

Study Text#2—Isa. 26:22-27:1
"For, behold, the Lord cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. In that day the Lord with His sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan, the piercing serpent, even leviathan, that crooked serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that is in the sea."

God has no quarrel with snakes and sea creatures. Isaiah is listing several names for Satan. John called Satan by four names, two of which match Isaiah’s creatures: "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan" (Rev.12:9).
"The wild beasts (devils; Septuagint) of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts (devils; Septuagint) of the island, and the satyr (demons) shall call to his fellow" (Isa. 34:14). This prophecy depicts Satan and his demons calling to each other while roaming around in their Bottomless Pit.

So, What's the Point?
Earth in a completely frozen state cannot support living flesh and blood animals or even plant life. If our sun stopped its heat, it would take only minutes for us to become solid chunks of ice. An impossible environment for us, animals, or vegetation, but perfect for Satan and his Demons for a thousand years!
